The quilt made it to Arizona in a few days and is waiting on my great niece/nephew-in-law's sofa for them to return home from a short trip. Her mom left it there for them. Sorry the finished picture is sideways but it was windy outside and it was the only way I could hold it!

Another Quilt Finish
This month, I finished up a quilt made for my great niece, Melissa, and her husband, Chris. It was made from blocks that friends and family signed in celebration of their marriage. They live in Arizona and haven't seen the fabric I chose for the sashing and border. I think it will match their home and style. It's making its way to AZ via the mail so hope it makes it there safe and sound!
I will post a picture after the quilt gets to them so it will be a surprise to them. :)

Here is my great niece, Carly, at her baby shower for Gunner. The top picture is the front of Gunner's baby quilt and the bottom picture is the back. Some of the large blocks on the front have a Great Dane like Carly's "baby", Molly, and the back has scenes with a Boston Terrier like Carly's "baby", Moose.

December Sewing
December was such a busy month! Here are some things I got done. Finished up a quilt that I gave my aunt for Christmas. She is very ill and in a nursing home now. I was able to get a lap quilt done for my daughter without her knowing about it. I think she was really surprised. I also made a lap size quilt for our family Christmas "gift" exchange. On New Year's eve, I was able to go to a workshop in Plano with Bonnie K. Hunter. My good friend Teresa went also. Learned some new techniques but the wall hanging isn't finished yet. On January 2nd, I went to another workshop with Bonnie and learned how to make the spiderweb pattern. I have a spiderweb quilt that my Grandmother Ruth made for me when I was little and Mother quilted when I got married in 1972. I'm excited to get started on making one. Working on a baby quilt today. Can't show pictures of it yet.
I think I have a picture of the quilt I gave my aunt on Bill's camera. I'll have to add it later.
This photo was the family gift exchange quilt. My brother-in-law ended up with it. My sister has tried to get my quilt for 3 years in a row so he got it. She got a Kindle so maybe they can share.
Here are my Christmas present kitties, Cookie and Coco, resting on Emma's "Hello Kitty" quilt. This was the same pattern as above - super easy but quick and nice if you have some pretty fabrics you don't want to cut up too small. It is called Square in Squares 2 on Quilter's Cache website.

Here I am on the left with Bonnie K. Hunter (Quiltville)at the Spiderweb quilting class. I will have to take a picture of the parts of the Love Shack wallhanging that I have done from the first class. I took some pictures that day but didn't take any of my stuff.

November has been a very busy month! Quilting wise I got a few things done. I helped my friend Teresa finish up quilting a beautiful blue batik bedspread size quilt that she made. She did a wonderful job quilting flowers in the center. I did meandering on the borders.
I finished up a wedding signature quilt that I made for one of Emma's college friends. The next picture shows the center paper pieced block. The church block pattern is on Marcia Hon's site: http://quilterscache.com/.
Today I made scarves for my preschool class for Christmas. I cut them from fleece and appliqued their initials on them. The pink are for the girls and the red for the boys. I have one more to make for one of the boys. I got the fabric upside down and didn't have anymore wonder under to do another. They made up really quickly. Emma laid them out to spell a couple of hidden words with the letters. She's a teacher for sure!
Not sure why these are sideways!
I also got the borders on a Christmas gift quilt and the backing cut and pieced. Will work on quilting it later this week. I have worked on the November row for my calendar quilt but it's not quite finished. I also designed a new row for the December row. It was a row of Santas that I didn't like too much. So I used my TriRecs rulers and made Christmas tree patterns for that row. They are cut and one of each type is sewn.
This is a paper prototype.
I have to stop procrastinating and get some work done for my prek class for tomorrow. No more sewing tonight!
